Pre-Installation
Before the professional installers from Ultimate Concrete Coatings arrive at your home, all you need to do is remove all objects, furniture and vehicles from the surface.
That’s it! We take care of everything else!
The Installation Process
The first thing our expert installers do before installing your new epoxy garage flooring is to prepare the surface. We diamond grind the entire area before we apply the epoxy.
After preparing the surface, we coat your entire garage floor with our thick, durable, solvent-based epoxy. This coating is designed to be long-lasting and stand up to all the rigors of life in your garage.
Next, we cover the entire surface with colored chips. This is what will give your garage the unique appearance that we custom designed with you prior to the installation.
The following day, we apply an acrylic sealer and then, an additional polyurethane sealer on top of that. This process gives you a beautiful garage floor that is resilient to chemical stains, chipping, impact, and surface abrasions. Your new epoxy garage floor is also resistant to slippage, the extreme Phoenix heat and heavy impact.
Now you have a garage floor with an epoxy coating that is safe, easy to clean, with a shiny, just-poured brilliance that will last for years to come
This whole process takes less time than you think! A typical garage floor installation takes only 2 days from start to finish. You can even walk on it the next day! You’ll need to wait 3 days before you place light furniture on the surface and 7 days before you place heavy items or park vehicles on it.
After Installation – Maintenance
The First 3 Months
Although our coatings are vehicle-traffic strength after 7 days, the material does continue to cure for approximately 3 months after installation. Here are a few precautions you should take during that time:
- Use caution and don’t drag heavy or sharp items across the floor.
- If you park a golf cart on your surface, place a rubber mat underneath the golf cart battery to prevent acid damage if the battery leaks or overflows.
- If you park a motorcycle on your surface, use a carpet square underneath the kickstand.
After 3 Months
Your new epoxy garage flooring is designed to be durable and, because it’s not likely to be in direct sunlight, will last 10 – 15 years between re-sealings depending on the types of activities and number and types of vehicles.
